If you’ve ever purchased anything on Amazon you’re probably familiar with Amazon Deals. Amazon offers different sales nearly every day. These deals are featured prominently on Amazon’s homepage, and buyers can use the category search to find the best offers.

If you’re an Amazon seller who’s never taken advantage of these limited time promotions, you may be wondering how to get in on the action.

Just like with regular selling, there’s a lot you need to know about Amazon Deals. We’ve consolidated some of that information here to get you started.

Types of Deals

There are two main types of Amazon deals currently available to sellers: Lightning Deals and 7-Day Deals. Each deal type has a specific set of criteria that the seller and their products must meet to become eligible.

Lightning Deals

A Lightning Deal is a limited time promotional offer. Although Amazon determines the time frame, it typically runs 4-12 hours. Lightning deals may increase views of your products and boost your profits. There are certain criteria a seller must meet, including:

-You must be a Professional Seller.

-You must have an overall rating of at least 3.5 stars.

-You must have at least 5 Seller Feedback Ratings per month.

In  addition to meeting these requirements, your products also need to meet certain criteria. You can find out more at Seller Central.

7-Day Deals

A 7-Day Deal is just what it sounds like: a limited promotional offer that is featured on the Amazon Deals page for up to 7 days.  To be eligible for 7-Day Deals, you must meet the same seller and product criteria as Lightning Deals.

Things To Keep in Mind

-Deals fees apply (see details here).

-Once your product is approved for a Deal you must maintain the required criteria. If at any time your product(s) violate the criteria Amazon will immediately cancel your Deal, and you may not be eligible for a refund of your fees.

-You can utilize the Account Health Dashboard and Customer Feedback Manager to ensure your account is in good standing and maintaining a high feedback rating.

Not a Professional Seller? Not to worry. You can upgrade your Amazon selling status from an Individual Selling Plan to a Professional Selling Plan.

If you’re looking to take advantage of Amazon Deals, be sure to read all of Amazon’s terms, conditions, and requirements. Qualifying for these deals can boost your product sales, visibility, and brand awareness.

Happy Selling!
