Spotlight on Elliott Beaty, Senior Software Engineer

We think we have a pretty great staff here at InventoryLab, and we’d love for you to see some of the faces and personalities behind the scenes. To that end, we’re proud to present our IL Staff Spotlight Series. Each post in the series will include five questions and answers about the employee so that you can get to know them a little better. We’ll include a photo, each employee’s official IL bio, and information on some of the things they’ve created and achieved in their time here. Maybe the rest of us at IL will even find out some things we didn’t know before about our teammates!

Elliott joined the IL family in July of 2016 and has been an integral part of the Dev Team ever since!

As a Senior Software Engineer, Elliott works on a lot of very cool stuff behind the scenes for InventoryLab. Over the past two years, Elliott has helped create and implement some of IL’s most notable features such as the Removal and Disposals Report, the Storage Fee Calculator, the Velocity Report, and he was involved in the bQool Integration.

Elliott’s Official InventoryLab Bio:

“I’m a code junkie, mediocre volleyball player, and lover of anything outdoors. You’re just as likely to find me in front of my monitor coding as you are to find me in the nearby mountain hot springs. I’ve chased my passions across the country and they’re what ultimately brought me to InventoryLab; I’ve never been so pumped to be part of a team.”

5 Questions For Elliott

1.) What exactly do you do at InventoryLab?

As a software engineer, the majority of my work day is spent coding new features and building out our technology platform with my teammates.

2.) How do you unwind and relax after a long day?

There’s nothing better than a hike with my wife and dog.

3.) If you could have one superhuman power, what would it be and why?

The ability to know what my wife is thinking at all times. Why? Because that is what is already expected.

4.) If a movie was made about your life, what actor would play you?

I’d like to say Brad Pitt or George Clooney, but more than likely I’d get Zach Galifianakis or Michael Cera.

5.) What was your very first job?

Washing pots and pans for a camping guide service. Humble beginnings, I know, but I did eventually work my way up to cleaning canoes!
