Renaissance Woman
Spotlight on Abigail Piner, Business Analyst
Abigail was hired in October of 2015 and joined the IL family first as a Customer Champion. She was quickly promoted to Customer Happiness Manager and was most recently promoted to Business Analyst.
As Business Analyst, Abigail is involved in just about every development project at IL.
She was instrumental in creating the ability to edit quantities in a live batch and discovering a way to provide the required dangerous goods information. She also implemented the service that allows customers who write in to the support team to reward our hardworking Customer Champion staff for a job well done.
Abigail’s Official IL Bio:
I am an experienced customer service professional who is passionate about helping people find solutions. I have extended experience in retail management, so I consider myself an expert when it comes to looking outside of the box to solve a problem. When I am not working, I spend my time with my wonderful husband, son, and twin daughters. I relax by crocheting cute hats, singing, and watching tv – sometimes simultaneously!
5 Questions For Abigail
1.) What do you do at InventoryLab?
I started with IL as a Customer Champion, which lead to becoming the Customer Happiness Manager. My current role in IL is Business Analyst. I spend time reviewing cases that need development involvement, working with the team to create new features and alleviate pain points, reviewing how our users interact with the software, digging into the capabilities of the Amazon API, and anything else that is thrown my way.
2.) What is a skill you would like to learn?
I would like to learn and become fluent in American Sign Language. I learned a few terms back in my days of being a bank teller because we had a customer who had a hearing impairment. It was always difficult for her to communicate, and I wanted her to feel more comfortable. The first time I signed something to her I remember being so nervous, but then she had the biggest smile on her face. It was a great feeling!
3.) What three words do you think your close friends and family would use to describe you?
Opinionated – as my IL colleagues would tell you, it’s no secret that I will tell you what I think!
Kind – I’d pretty much do anything I could to save someone from feeling hurt or to brighten someone’s day. I’m the person who pays for the person’s coffee order behind me in line, who tips very well, and who sends random funny messages to friends when something tells me they need their spirits lifted.
Spontaneous – it’s not unlike me to hop in a car and go somewhere… anywhere…often hours away…for no real reason. Though it was much easier when I wasn’t carting around 3 young kiddos with me!
4.) What’s the most recent show you’ve binge watched?
I am currently binging Grey’s Anatomy (again) but have also been known to binge The Office, Scrubs, and Law & Order: SVU.
5.) What was your first job?
I had my first full-time job at 16 as a concessionist for a movie theater. Pro-tip: Ask for your butter “layered” so you can get some in the middle!
We think we have a pretty great staff here at InventoryLab, and we’d love for you to see some of the faces and personalities behind the scenes. To that end, we’ve created our IL Staff Spotlight Series. Each post in the series will include five questions and answers about the employee so that you can get to know them a little better. We’ll include a photo, each employee’s official IL bio, and information on some of the things they’ve created and achieved in their time here. Maybe the rest of us at IL will even find out some things we didn’t know before about our teammates!
